Be a Fundraiser
BCF relies on donations, sponsors and fundraising activities to raise money to run its various programmes and services. Fundraising activities may be organised by BCF, often with support from sponsors, or by other organisations or individuals with the funds collected going towards promoting breast cancer awareness, promoting regular screening, and providing support for people affected by breast cancer, to help them cope with the disease and continue to live active and fulfilling lives.
BCF’s annual signature fundraising cum awareness event is the “Wear the Pink Ribbon” campaign. The pink ribbon is the international symbol representing awareness and hope for women with breast cancer. In September and October, pink ribbon pins are given out with minimum donations of $2, or $5 for the Swarovski crystal-studded edition, at healthcare facilities, retail outlets, F&B joints, and at shopping centres hosted by our partners.
BCF volunteers go out looking for people wearing the pins from any year during this period, and those spotted with the pins on will stand a chance to win attractive prizes in our Pin It To Win It lucky draw.
Aside from fundraising initiatives spearheaded by ourselves, our various partners have also organised fundraising activities for BCF, ranging from gala dinners and special promotions, to golfing events and school projects by students, and novel events.
Apart from garnering donations, these fundraising activities also enable BCF to reach out to the public and increase awareness of breast cancer.
