WTA Tennis Coaching Programme for BCF
For the first time, the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) are working together to provide breast cancer survivors from BCF with a customised programme that positively enriches their mental and physical health through tennis.
The two specially-tailored programmes have a potential outreach to both novice tennis enthusiasts – “Tennis Development” for those new to the game or have become a little rusty and “Tennis Cardio” for those who are more advanced seeking a greater challenge.
By combining tennis exercises and drills with a therapeutic approach to enhance mental and physical health, we hope that this dynamic collaboration will not only help enhance the lives of breast cancer survivors in Singapore but has the potential to be incorporated in other communities on a global platform.
New Class! Tennis Development
(Every Wednesday from 8.30AM to 10.00AM, First Class on 17 April 2019)
Perfect for beginner to intermediate players who are either new to tennis or would like to polish and refine their basic skills, all fundamentals of tennis including all strokes, speciality shots and basic match play will be covered. Conducted in a group, the emphasis will be on bringing out the joy in the game while learning the basic as well as socialising with your group mates.
New Class! Cardio Tennis
(Every Wednesday from 7.30PM to 9.00PM, First Class on 17 April 2019)
This is tennis with a cardio twist that combines drills and games. Be prepared to be kept constantly moving while hitting plenty of balls. Those looking for a greater challenge can look forward to fitness stations to push their workout to the next level. Suitable for more advanced players who are able to rally, there will be less focus on teaching technique as the primary aim is for participants to get a great workout that is fun and exciting.
